Terms of Service

Last updated: 22 June 2026

1. Agreement

By registering for or using Putt for Dough ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App. These Terms are governed by the laws of Ireland.

The App is operated by Paul Fleming ("we", "us", "our"), based in Ireland. Contact: admin@puttfordough.app

2. The service

Putt for Dough is a golf scoring and social app that allows users to record rounds, track handicaps, organise tournaments and leagues, and settle friendly wagers. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time with reasonable notice where practicable.

3. Eligibility

  • You must be at least 16 years old to create an account
  • You must provide accurate registration information
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and password

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any Irish or EU law
  • Submit false or misleading scores, handicaps, or other information
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other accounts or the App's systems
  • Copy, reverse-engineer, or redistribute any part of the App or its code
  • Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to extract data from the App
  • Harass, abuse, or harm other users

5. Wagers and entry fees

The App facilitates the recording and calculation of friendly wagers and tournament entry fees between consenting participants. Putt for Dough does not hold, process, or transfer funds on your behalf — all financial settlements are made directly between users (via Revolut, PayPal, Venmo, Wise, or cash).

You are solely responsible for ensuring that any wagering or prize activity you participate in complies with the laws of your jurisdiction. In Ireland, the Gaming and Lotteries Acts may apply to organised prize competitions — you should seek independent legal advice before running paid tournaments.

We do not operate as a gambling service and are not licensed by the Irish gambling regulator.

6. Intellectual property

The App, including its design, code, graphics, and content, is the proprietary work of Paul Fleming and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without prior written permission.

You retain ownership of any scores, course data, or other content you submit, but you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store and display that content in order to provide the service.

7. Subscriptions and payments

If we introduce paid features or subscriptions in the future, pricing and billing terms will be clearly disclosed before any charge is made. EU consumers have a 14-day right of withdrawal from distance contracts under the Consumer Rights Directive, subject to applicable exceptions.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

The App is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that handicap calculations will meet any official golf body's standards. Nothing in these Terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer under Irish or EU law.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Paul Fleming shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to lost wager amounts, incorrect handicap calculations, or data loss. Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid to use the App in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded under Irish or EU consumer law.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms. You may close your account at any time by contacting us. On termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or via an in-app notice. Continued use of the App after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Ireland. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts, without prejudice to your rights as an EU consumer to bring proceedings in your country of residence.

EU consumers may also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

13. Trademarks and affiliation

Putt for Dough is an independent application and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or certified by The R&A, Golf Ireland, England Golf, the national golf unions, or the World Handicap System. “World Handicap System”, “WHS”, “Handicap Index”, “Course Rating”, “Slope Rating” and “Slope” are trademarks of their respective owners and are used here only descriptively to explain the calculation methods the App applies.

Any handicap, course rating, slope rating or related value shown in the App is an unofficial estimate intended for casual play. It is not an official, club- or association-issued Handicap Index and should not be relied upon for official competition or for purposes requiring an authorised handicap. Official handicaps can only be issued by an authorised handicapping authority.

14. Contact
